HSF Medical Services provides certified overdose prevention training through Overdose Lifeline, focused on empowering both first responders and community members to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose using naloxone (Narcan). These trainings are evidence-based, accessible, and designed to save lives.
This course is developed for first responders including EMS, law enforcement, and firefighting personnel to understand the public health impact of opioid overdoses, recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, and administer naloxone (intranasal). The training also covers post-administration care and common misconceptions about naloxone.
Designed for community members, caregivers, workplaces, and other non-medical individuals. Participants will learn to identify opioid overdose symptoms, safely administer naloxone (nasal or injectable), and understand basic harm-reduction principles and naloxone laws. This course supports overdose prevention and equips laypeople to act in an emergency.
